Pat Edwards, Director of Surgical Services for Wesley Medical Center, was quoted in a Wichita Eagle article April 24, 08. Edwards, an '03 graduate of Newman's MBA program, assisted in coordinating an eye surgery for 9 year old Jose Bustamante from Nicaragua. Without the additional health care, Jose would have likely lost vision in both eyes. "This is the right thing to do. That's the bottom line," said Pat Edwards.

Teresa (Buchholz) Beilman, 71, died Feb. 3, 2008. She was a devoted mother and grandmother as well as a talented artist. She painted numerous murals, sculptures and specialized in portraiture. The St. Peter statue at the entrance to St. Peter Church in Schulte, and the St. Maria de Mattias statue at the entrance to the convent of the Sisters Adorers of the Most Precious Blood in Wichita are some of her major works. Our sympathy to her husband Vern of almost 50 years, and her family.
