Julie (Huntley) Chase '85 Tuesday, February 26, 2008 (0 reads)
Four Kansas Newman College alumni who started together as freshman in Merlini Hall in 1980 had a mini-reunion and girl's weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona in October 2007. It all started to come together last summer when Marisa Perez '84 drove from Kansas City to Wichita to visit Mary (Grelinger) Jones '84. They decided they were tired of waiting for me, Julie (Hutley) Chase '85 to make the trip to Wichita, so they needed to come and visit me instead. When they called me with their idea in September, I was estatic and soon decided to call my old roommate, Nancy (Kershen) Burger '85 in Atlanta to see if she would come also. She loved the idea and it all came together really fast after that. Some remodeling at my house resulted in us spending a wonderful weekend at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale. We enjoyed champagne in our suite to celebrate our reunion and had a wonderful weekend shopping, dining, and relaxing at the spa. We pledged to not let another 20 years go by before we did it again!
