Who is eligible for outreach library services?
You must be currently enrolled in an off-campus course or program administered by Newman University. The Library strives to offer students enrolled in Newman courses away from the campus services similar to those available on campus.
What services are available?
You have access to everything on the Library Web site including licensed databases, subject guides, online catalog, etc.
What special outreach services are available?
- NU Librarians will assist in class-related research for those of you who do not have special research resources at the site. You may phone, mail, EMAIL, or FAX your research questions or problems.
- You may request periodical articles directly from the NU library by phone, FAX, EMAIL and/or mail. Articles will be returned by FAX, mail, or email if appropriate. If a journal is not owned by NU, that article will obtained from another library by interlibrary loan.
- Books will be mailed directly to you.
Are there any charges for these services?
The costs are the same as those we charge the on campus users: 5¢ per page for copies done at the Library and delivery charges if you request express delivery of items. Hopefully, you will plan far enough in advance to avoid express delivery situations.
How can I get remote access to library subscription databases?
You will need a Newman computer account (you should get this at registration) to log into the licensed databases. Newman logins require username and password. NOTE: If you use AOL or CompuServe, you will need to download a Netscape browser from here.
