Transcript Request Procedure
A transcript is a certified, official copy of a student's permanent academic record.
- It cannot be released without the student's written consent.
- No one else (including a spouse, parent, etc.) may pick up a student's transcript without the student's written permission. If you wish to have someone else pick up your transcript, identify in your request the name of the person who is authorized to obtain your transcript.
- If a "Hold" has been placed on your academic record by any university office, transcript service is withheld.
- A transcript picked up by or sent directly to the student is stamped "Issued to Student". Some institutions will not accept a transcript that is marked "Issued to Student" even if it is in a sealed envelope.
- Each transcript costs $5.00 which is to be paid in advance by cash, check (payable to Newman University) or MasterCard/Visa/Discover. Faxed transcripts carry a fee of $8.00.
- Click here for a transcript order form. After completing, printing, and signing the request form, send it by mail or fax to the Registrar's Office, Newman University, 3100 McCormick, Wichita, KS 67213. FAX: 316-942-4483.
Catalog
The university catalog, containing course descriptions, academic policies and graduation requirements, is published on an annual basis. Click here for the catalog.
Schedule of Courses
A schedule of courses is published each semester in printed format and online. Click here for the schedule of courses.
Enrollment
Students at Newman have the option of enrolling in their classes online (through JetStream) or by using the standard paper registration form. Either method of enrollment requires consent of the advisor. Instructions for the online registration process are available to students as they enter JetStream.
Graduation
Two commencement ceremonies are held each academic year. The ceremony in December is for students finishing degree requirements at the end of the fall semester, and the ceremony in May is for students who complete degree requirements at the end of the spring semester or the following summer term. Students who complete degree requirements during the summer must document on their degree application how they will finish their requirements and they will receive their diploma at the completion of their summer course work.
Degree applications are sent by the Registrar's Office to students who indicate to the office they are graduating that semester. Every candidate for a degree must file an application for degree by the date listed on the application. Failure to file the application by the designated date may result in the non-award of the degree for that semester. If degree requirements are not completed within the academic year in which the application is filed, a new application must be filed and the graduation fee repaid. |
