Peer Tutoring

How much?

Students can receive up to 15 hours per month—completely free!

Who are the tutors?

All Peer Tutors go through training and are certified according to the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) standards. Students must have documented expertise in the subject area by receiving an A or B in the classes they tutor, and all must be recommended by a faculty member.

Really? Any class?

You may request a peer tutor for any class you are taking at Newman University. We will attempt to find a qualified tutor for you. In rare cases, no qualified tutors are available, so we can’t unconditionally promise you a tutor for any subject — but we can unconditionally promise that we will do our best to find one!

What does the tutor do?

The purpose of a tutor is to help students understand the subject matter. Tutors will not do your homework — but they can help you learn how to do it yourself!

How do I sign up?
