Just a note to say “Congratulations” on the well-planned and executed Inauguration activities for President Carrocci! I’ve heard accolades for the excellent activities and how smoothly they were implemented for the entire day. You have my kudos for all the hard work preceding and during the various events. Greatly appreciated. November 9th will certainly go down in history as one of the most celebrative occasions for Newman University! Please tell all your staff how much the ASCs enjoyed the day and the beautiful attention to all details to make it so excellent.

Got off work early on the 9th, had planned to go to the whole thing but I totally spaced it off! My late buddy John Bogner and I unintentionally crashed the private luncheon for Dr. Rbt Giroux way back in 1982, so I wanted to see this one. More importantly, I wanted to be there when they dedicated the Library. To me a Library has always been a sacred place. Libraries have, at times, been my refuge. AND they can be a heckuva lot of fun!!! (I'm almost jealous of the kids who can get a snack and use a computer and buy a shirt and check out a book at this new Library!)<br>------Jeff Baker ('83)

Dear Noreen, Congratulations on this special and significant day in your life and that of Newman University. Although you have been bearing the responsibilities of the office for several months now, today is certainly a day to pause, celebrate and enjoy the "pomp and circumstances" that surround the formal installation as President of Newman. We, the members of the General Administration, send our best wishes and our prayers. We are grateful that you have joined the Adorers in our mission on behalf of the Gospel and the People of God. We thank you for accepting this leadership role in our only University. Already we are aware of your strong desire to work more closely with the Adorers so that Newman reflects and operates out of our value system. We are grateful for this vision and commitment on your part. Enjoy and savor the day, its activities and blessings. From afar, we are with you in spirit and prayer. -- Therese, ASC for the entire Team

Dear Colleagues, It is hard to describe how grateful I am. Each of you made November 9th a very special day for my family, for my friends, and for me. The Delegates and all the guests were impressed with the beautiful campus. But they were more impressed with how comfortable each event felt and how warm, friendly, and helpful you were. The superb planning of the Steering Committee was clearly in evidence. Thank you: Ann Fox, Tom Borrego, Diane Cotter, Sherry Hoelker, Tracy McGarey, Laura Nicholas, Rosemary Niedens, Sr. Charlotte Rohrbach, ASC, Ron Ryan, Kelly Snedden, Drew Spencer, Fr. Joe Tatro, and Michelle Walker. Thank you, everyone, who served on the many subcommittees as well. Your demonstrated excellence of effort was most encouraging! I could feel your sense of urgency as the day approached. I’ve been a witness to what this fine university community can accomplish. Now, after some “rest and relaxation,” we can all turn our attention to that other significant “R&R” – recruiting and retention – as Ron Ryan so wisely directed. Together we will succeed on those tasks as well. Thank you, everyone, for your hard work. Thank you for putting your faith and trust in me. On another November 12, St. Maria DeMattias wrote to a Sister Piermarini: “I put my trust in Divine Providence and also in the generous hearts of those who may want to provide some help.” How apt this historic proclamation is for today. With gratitude for your generosity of heart, Noreen Carrocci, President

(E-mailed to Ann Fox) I wanted to write you and thank all of you and all of the others who made the inauguration events go so smoothly. I know how much hard work goes into events such as these and truly appreciate your efforts. It was a wonderful day and you all should be very proud. My husband and I were fortunate enough to be among the many "special friends" and we had a wonderful time. We stayed at the hotel in Old Town which was VERY nice; the accommodations were great, the breakfast was good and everyone was nice, hospitable, friendly, etc., etc. The goodie bag was wonderful. We will think of this special day when we use our NU wine glasses! Thank you again for a fabulous time. -- A. Suzanne Bolte
