The Theology Minor  
A minor in theology at Newman University is intended to complement another major field of study. A minor in theology is ideal for education majors planning on teaching in the Catholic school system. History and Psychology majors in the past have profited from a minor in theology, as has anyone interested in exploring and deepening their understanding of their Catholic faith. To obtain a minor in theology at Newman requires 18 credit hours including:

THEO 1003 Introduction to the Old Testament OR
THEO 1013 Introduction to the New Testament OR
THEO 1023 Introduction to Scripture

THEO 1023 Faith and Society OR
THEO 3003 Christian Moral and Social Issues

THEO 2033 Church and Sacraments
THEO Electives—9 credit hours (above 3000 level)
