The Criminal Justice Program
The Criminal Justice program at Newman University provides a flexible 39 credit hour program that responds to a variety of student needs. The program is divided into two components: Core and Electives.
CoreThe core (required of all criminal justice majors) includes courses offering exposure to issues and components of the Criminal Justice System. In addition, the inclusion of the statistics and methods courses provide skills that contribute to your ability to progress in your career of choice. The core contains 27 hours.
ElectivesThe electives provide you with an opportunity to choose courses of interest. You can create your own 12-hour combination to meet your unique needs in preparing for the future.
Other Issues to NoteCooperative Education – You can include a cooperative education experience to gain access to career experiences that can enhance your opportunities for future employment.
Upper Division Credits – Of the 39 hours required for the major, 21 must be upper division (course number 3000 or above). |
