Institutional Review Board  
The Institutional Review Board (IRB), also known as the Human Subjects Review Committee reviews all research that is done with human subjects by Newman University faculty, staff or students, or research that is done on Newman University faculty, staff, or students. The committee ensures proper protection of the rights and welfare of the individuals involved, with consideration of the methods used to gain informed consent and the justification of risks in terms of the potential benefits to be gained.

Please Note: All IRB forms must be submitted by e-mail. Paper copies will no longer be accepted. IRB forms should be e-mailed to MerrifieldC@newmanu.edu.

A copy of the electronic IRB form and other information can be accessed here. Please Save the file to your computer before opening.

How to send the IRB form?
  1. Right-click on the IRB link above.
  2. Choose Save Target As... and save the document on your hard drive.
  3. Open it from your hard drive, fill it out and save again.
  4. Open your E-mail and send the IRB form as an attachment to MerrifieldC@newmanu.edu.
