The program of study in accountancy is 124 credit hours, comprised of four areas:
- Core “General Education” Curriculum* 43 credit hours
- Pre-business Courses** 21 credit hours
- Business Core Courses 24 credit hours
- Accounting Major 30 credit hours
- Unrestricted electives 6 credit hours
*All students at the University, regardless of their major, must take the General Education curriculum; however, two courses in the accountancy program satisfy to of the Core Curriculum requirements.
**Admission to the School of Business is separate from admission to Newman University. This “second” admission occurs when the student reaches junior status. Admissions requie-ments are as follows:”
- An overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or better, and
- A “C” or better in all pre-business courses.
Students deficient in either of the two requirements may petition to be admitted on probation or conditional on completing pre-business courses not yet taken. |
