Dr. Goetz holds a Ph.D. in business administration from the University of Nebraska, an M.B.A. from the University of Missouri, and a baccalaureate in economics from St. Mary’s University (MN). He is a Certified Management Accountant. Goetz has held appointments to the faculties of Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Northern Arizona and Louisiana State in Shreveport Universities and the Universities of South Dakota and Tulsa, in addition to Newman University. He served as Dean of the business schools at both LSUS and Oklahoma City University, Director of Graduate Studies in Business at the University of Tulsa, and coordinator of the Accounting Department at Northern Arizona. His professional experience includes several year’s as a Controller and Treasurer in the fabricare industry.
Goetz is author and co-author of a variety of articles, cases and other scholarly and professional papers. He has been published in the Journal of Small Business Management, Taxes, Accounting Organizations & Society, and the Long-Term Care and Health Services Administration Quarterly, among others. He is a member of the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Management Accountants and Financial Executives International - where he has served as president of both the Tulsa and Wichita chapters.

Professor McElroy earned a baccalaureate degree from Friends University (FU), an M.B.A. from the University of Kansas and a Juris Doctorate from the Washburn University School of Law. Prior to joining NU, McElroy was on the faculty of his alma mater, FU, as a professor of business law and finance. He is Principal of McElroy Financial Engineering, an investment management and portfolio administration firm. He is also the former President of E.M. Investment Co. McElroy previously served as an Assistant Director of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Washburn, followed by several years in private law practice.
McElroy’s research has been published in the Kansas Business Review, presented at the Center for Professional Services at the Else School of Management and at the Options Institute of the Chicago Board of Trade Options Exchange. In 2003, McElroy received a grant from the Kansas Health Foundation for a program on Social Entrepreneurship. In 2005 he presented a paper, A Proposed Model for Measuring Expected Losses from Certain Types of Litigation Contingencies, at the 32nd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Economics and Finance.

Dr. Munday earned her baccalaureate and M.B.A. degrees from Wichita State University (WSU) and her doctorate from Oklahoma State University (OSU). At WSU she received the Dale Wiggins Award as the Outstanding Graduate Student and at OSU she was elected to Phi Kappa Phi. Prior to moving to her current career in higher education, Munday worked in marketing and management in the financial services industry with Bank IV and Intrust Bank. She maintains an active consulting practice as owner of Management & Marketing Innovations. Munday’s professional activities include working as a Junior Achievement volunteer, being a founding Vice-President of the Wichita Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association. Her research, concentrated on adult learning strategies, was cited in 2004 in The Journal of Interactive Online Learning.

A Wichita native, Dr. Ryan earned a B.S. in Accounting at Wichita State University, an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University, and a doctorate at the University of Oklahoma. He held an appointment on the faculty of Friends University before joining NU in 2002. Ryan has had an extensive and varied professional career outside of academia. He was on the audit and tax staffs of Elmer Fox, Westheimer & Co, a national public accounting firm and worked at Republic Bank of Texas in internal audit and loan review. An entrepreneur, Ryan is the former CEO of New Frontiers Realty and former CFO of Systems Consulting. At Newman he is currently the Sam Walton Fellow for Students in Free Enterprise. Ryan is a member of the AICPA, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the World Trade Council, the World Trade Center and the Council of International Business.

Professor Smith is a graduate of West Texas State and Wichita State Universities. He completed additional graduate study at Oklahoma State University where he was a Doctoral Consortium Fellow at the American Accounting Association. He is currently completing a Ph.D. at Capella University. Prior to joining the faculty at Newman University, he held faculty appointments at Emporia State and Friends Universities. Previous to his academic career, Smith held a progression of marketing and managerial positions with Monroe Systems for Business. His research interests include organizational control environments and professional ethics. In 2004, Smith presented a paper, An Exploratory Study of Corporate Social Responsibility at the 2004 annual meeting of the Southern Management Association.

Professor Vogt is the senior ranking faculty member, former Division Chair, and past interim Dean of the Business Program at NU. He earned his baccalaureate degree from Emporia State University and his graduate degree from Kansas State University, both in mathematics. He is held every major office in the Faculty Senate, including president, and is serving the institution as Chair of the Faculty Evaluation Committee. Vogt is a member of the Mathematical Association of America, the Kansas State Teachers of Mathematics and the Consortium for Computing in Small Colleges.

Professor Hambrick holds a baccalaureate degree in mathematics from Ft. Hay’s State University (FHSU) and another in computer science from Wichita State University. She also earned an M.A. in Applied Mathematics at FHSU. Hambrick began her career teaching mathematics in high school before moving on to the collegiate level at Newman, where she switched to the computer information systems field. In addition to her instructional responsibilities, Hambrick is responsible for training and mentoring faculty in use of the BlackBoard Course Management Software system. In 2001, Hambrick co-presented a paper, Writing Across the Curriculum – Using Computer Technology to Develop Student Writing Communities, at the Great Plains Alliance for Computers and Writing Conference.

Hambrick earned baccalaureate and master’s degree in computer science at Wichita State University, as well as a baccalaureate in mathematics at Fort Hays State University. Prior to joining the faculty at NU, he was an information technology professional with Excel Corporation in the Wichita offices. He has continued consulting in the field for clients such as Cessna Aircraft Co. and Intrust Bank. In addition to his teaching duties, Hambrick manages the academic computer hardware network throughout the University’s campus.
