Master of Science in Education - Building Leadership  
Currently, there is a high demand for school administrators who have developed the skills to provide leadership in this period of high accountability for schools. Newman’s program for Building Leadership is designed to develop these skills through an innovative flexible delivery course system.

The Program

NU Student The Building Leadership degree concentration is a 33 credit hour program that provides certified teachers with insights, skills, and methods necessary to become effective building leaders. Graduates will be able to apply knowledge of school finance, human resources, and research as well as an understanding of curriculum and learning in diverse settings.

Curriculum

The Building Leadership degree concentration is composed of eleven specific courses that are directly aligned with the requirements for licensure as a building administrator in the state of Kansas. Completion of this degree program allows teachers to become licensed building principals in the state of Kansas.

Faculty

All courses are taught by highly qualified faculty members who have direct work experience in Pre K through grade 12 levels of education. All full-time faculty members hold the Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree.

Course Delivery and Program Schedule

Flexible course delivery is utilized for all courses in the program. This provides a combination of web-based instruction, specialized class sessions for special presentations and individual project study with tutorial support by highly qualified faculty members. Class sessions and student assignments are designed to be compatible with the needs of individuals who are employed as full-time teachers. This program is designed for completion in less than two years.
