Graduate Education Workshops

There will be no Fall Semester Graduate Education Workshops

Please check back for Spring Semester offerings.

The School of Education provides short-term, graduate level opportunities for area teachers who wish to earn credit for renewal of a teaching license / certificate and for professional development.

All workshops are for one graduate credit unless stated otherwise, and are open only to certified teachers and other graduate students. The workshops are recommended for renewing teacher licensure / certification, completing electives in graduate programs, and for personal enrichment.

For more workshop information, contact Juanita Alarcon.

General Information

  • All workshops are for one graduate credit unless otherwise stated, and are open only to licensed / certified teachers and other graduate students. (Must hold Bachelor’s degree.) Graduate education workshop credit is not applicable toward a degree.
  • Registration, one week prior to workshop, is preferred as minimum enrollment is required for each workshop. Please call for specific enrollment status.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition is $115 per credit hour. In addition, there is a $10 technology fee per credit hour for a total of $125 per credit hour. Tuition must be paid at registration to reserve your enrollment status. Refunds will be issued prior to the start of the workshop. After the workshop begins, no refunds will be issued.

Grading Policy

Workshops are graded on a pass / fail basis. Classes meet for intensive time periods with reading and written material assigned beyond the in-class period. Students must attend all sessions of each workshop to receive a passing grade.

Grade Reporting / Transcript Service

Information about grades, schedule of classes, account balance, and financial aid information can be found on JetStream. JetStream is a web site where students can view their personal information (schedules/grades, billing, financial aid, etc.) You can reach JetStream from the NU home page (www.newmanu.edu).

Transcript service for completed workshops will be available after the grades are posted on the Web. Requests must be directed to the Registrar’s Office in person or by mail. There is a $5 fee per transcript. Faxed transcripts carry a fee of $8. Please allow three working days to process a request.
