Welcome to the Nursing Department!
There’s no better time than the present to consider a career in nursing. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, by the year 2020 there will be 400,000 fewer nurses available to provide care than will be needed. A bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree from NU permits you to take the registered nurse national licensure examination and join the ranks of professional nurses who are truly making a difference. Newman’s BSN program enables you to achieve learning outcomes in liberal arts, technology, and the art and science of nursing. You also receive the benefit of attending a private, Catholic, liberal arts university that features personalized instruction – including clinical instruction in the major teaching hospitals in Wichita, as well as in a variety of community agencies.
