Prerequisites and Requirements
The following options for consideration for admission to the Sonography program are requirements set forth by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS):
Option #1: Graduate by August 20 (current year) from a two year allied health or RN nursing program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. You must be registered in your respective discipline.

Option #2: Bachelors’ degree (minimum GPA of 3.0) with the following prerequisite courses completed: Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and college Physics.

Option #3: Sufficient college hours (minimum GPA of 3.0) to complete the requirements for the Newman University Baccalaureate in Sonography. This requires completion of general education requirements found in the Newman University catalog and the following prerequisite courses completed prior to starting the sonography curriculum, Medical Terminology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and college Physics. |
