Welcome to Sonography!  

Certificate of Baccalaureate Degree

Sonographers:

Are highly skilled professionals that produce patient examinations using diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a doctor of medicine or osteopathy. Diagnostic medical sonography includes abdominal, obstetrical, vascular, cardiac, and various sub-specialties. The sonographer:
  • Provides patient care and education
  • Obtains and reviews patient history
  • Performs appropriate procedures recording anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician
  • Records and processes sonographic data

Career Opportunities Include:

  • A projected nationally strong need for technologists.
  • Working in a variety of settings including urban or rural medical centers and clinics
  • An average annual starting salary of 40,000-45,000.

The Program:

  • The ultrasound curriculum leads to a certificate of completion and the eligibility to take the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) examination.
  • Additionally, completion of university’s general education requirements earns the graduate a Baccalaureate degree.
