Certificate of Baccalaureate Degree
Sonographers:
Are highly skilled professionals that produce patient examinations using diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a doctor of medicine or osteopathy. Diagnostic medical sonography includes abdominal, obstetrical, vascular, cardiac, and various sub-specialties. The sonographer:- Provides patient care and education
- Obtains and reviews patient history
- Performs appropriate procedures recording anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician
- Records and processes sonographic data
Career Opportunities Include:
- A projected nationally strong need for technologists.
- Working in a variety of settings including urban or rural medical centers and clinics
- An average annual starting salary of 40,000-45,000.
The Program:
- The ultrasound curriculum leads to a certificate of completion and the eligibility to take the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) examination.
- Additionally, completion of university’s general education requirements earns the graduate a Baccalaureate degree.
