At Newman, we offer a challenging academic environment, with a strong core curriculum based in the Catholic intellectual tradition and more than 40 undergraduate programs of study.
We also have a faculty and staff who truly make a difference. Newman faculty members are noted for their scholarly achievements and publications, and for their real-world experience. At the same time, they are committed to their students’ success, and will treat you as they treat every Newman student: as an individual, with unique strengths, characteristics and needs. With our small classes and low student-to-faculty ratio (14:1 in the Fall 2006 Semester), Newman professors can also offer one-on-one attention to help you find the right answers.
At Newman, you’ll be assigned to a faculty member who will serve as your advisor. He or she will get to know you well, and can help guide you in your scholastic and career plans. With this kind of attention, it’s not surprising – or uncommon – for Newman students to create mentoring relationships with their professors that can last a lifetime.
Because of our faculty, advising, rigorous programs and high academic standards, Newman graduates achieve exceptional levels of success, becoming health care professionals, scientists, lawyers, accountants, social workers, teachers and leading business men and women. For these reasons, many students come to Newman with confidence that they’ll get the education they need to move on to advanced study or get a good job after graduation.
