Laryssa Ferreira has been named the Heartland Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performances last week. Ferreira is the second Jet to earn Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors this spring.

The Newman women's tennis team made history yet again Tuesday afternoon, knocking off NAIA rival Tabor College for the first time in the program's history in an 8-1 blowout at Riverside Tennis Center. The Jets swept the singles competition, and won two of the three doubles matches to remain undefeated inside the bubble.

The Newman men's tennis team wasted little time taking care of NAIA foe Tabor, picking up a 7-2 win over the Bluejays Tuesday afternoon at Genesis Health Club. Newman won two of the three doubles matches, and won each of the top five singles matches.

Head Men's Soccer Cliff Brown has announced the signing of three more student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Pharouk Hussein, Zac Gramke, and Robert Butler have all announced their intentions to continue their soccer careers at Newman University next fall.

XC: Schepis Inks Penney

The Newman cross country program has received a National Letter of Intent from Conner Penney, head coach Josh Schepis announced Monday. Penney took fourth in the AVCTL Division IV last season. He was also the winner of the Goddard invitational.

The Newman men's tennis team came up short in its three matches this weekend in Topeka. The Jets dropped their first match to Northwest Missouri State 5-2, then dropped their next match to Emporia State, 5-4. The Jets concluded their weekend with a 9-0 loss to Washburn.
