Zane Ehling: Interin Head Baseball Coach; Department: Athletics; Email: EhlingZ@newmanu.edu; Phone #: 316-942-4291, ext.2208; Entering his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Jets. He was a member of the Jets MCAC conference championship team in 2006. Prior to playing for Newman, Zane played at Bethany College for one year and Butler Community College for two. He was an assistant coach for the Newton Rebels for two summers, helping them to a 7th-place finish in the National Baseball Congress World Series in 2006. He spent the 2008 summer as pitching coach for the Derby Twins, who finished second in the Jayhawk League. Zane is originally from Hutchinson, Kan.

Matt Patrick: Assistant Coach; Department: Athletics; Email:; Phone #:; Office #:; Matt Patrick returns to the Jets after a one-year hiatus. 2010 will be his fourth season as a Newman assistant coach. Originally from Old Bridge, N.J., Patrick played collegiately for the Wichita State Shockers, finishing in 1998. At WSU, he was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Academic First Team and the Region VII All-Academic First Team in 1997 and 1998. He was also selected as the Collegiate Baseball and Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week in March of 1997. After his playing career ended, Patrick coached at Fort Scott Community College for two years and at Wichita State for three years. For four summers he also coached the Newton Rebels of the The Walter Johnson Collegiate League. Patrick’s responsibilities at Newman will be coaching the first basemen and outfielders, while assisting with other positions. Patrick resides in Towanda.
