Newman Jets Men's Basketball Summer Camp

Coach Mark Potter It is an exciting time for Newman Men's Basketball. In the program’s first season of NCAA Division II full membership, Newman finished with a solid record of 15-12. Looking to build on that, the Jets now face the challenge of preparing and improving for next season!

With that in mind, Newman University and Head Coach, Mark Potter are proud to sponsor the 2009 Jet Summer Basketball Camp. This is an opportunity for area boys entering grades 5 - 8 to work on their game and have a lot of fun in the process!

Throughout the week, we will work with your son to develop the fundamental basketball skills he will need to compete at the middle and high school level. A variety of areas will be covered. From the basics of passing, dribbling and shooting, to the more complicated aspects of team play.

The camp will be held on Newman's campus at O'Shaughnessy Hall. O'Shaughnessy seats 1,200 fans and has two full-sized basketball courts with a total of six basketball goals.

Through basketball, youth learn many skills for life. Skills such as teamwork, accountability, physical fitness, respect for others, and more. Our camp is directed towards not only teaching basketball, but also these life skills. Our goal for your son is to improve his skill level and understanding of basketball, and also to have a very enjoyable week.
