Joe Gerrant scored his first goal of the year and Emmanuel Gutierrez made several acrobatic saves for Newman.

Wichita, Kan. – Newman University outside hitter Lauren Poe was named to the Las Vegas Blast All-Tournament Team Sunday. The Jets co-captain racked up a team-best 34 kills in the squad’s four games in Las Vegas.

Newman (0-4) led Northern 2-1 in the day’s first match, but was unable to close out the team’s first win of the young season.
