JetStream Instructions  
The JetStream is a secure, interactive Web site where students can view the Newman University Course Schedule, register for classes, process a degree audit, or view their personal information regarding financial aid, billing, class schedules, grades, etc.

Login / Logout

  • To reach JetStream, go to www.newmanu.edu
  • Enter your Username and Password. (This information is mailed to you by the Registrar’s Office immediately after your first enrollment at Newman.)
  • Click on the “Log In” button.
    • Please be sure to change this password the first time you log in – instructions are provided below. For security reasons, be sure to select "No" in the pop-up box asking if “. . . you want Windows to remember this password . . .”
  • To keep your information secure, always Exit JetStream by clicking “Log Out (Username)” in the upper right hand corner

Menu Selections

General

Change Password: The Password is case sensitive. In the top box, enter your current password, next your new password, and repeat the new password again to confirm the spelling. Click the “Submit” button.
Global Variables: Enter criteria to pull your information (e.g., Term). You can also set these through the "Currently Set" link at the top of the page.
Update Personal Information: You should periodically review the information that we have on record for your account and update where appropriate (see specific instructions for this process).
Deg Audit: View your last Degree Audit report or request a new audit (your request will be processed within five minutes so be sure to refresh your screen to view the current audit). Detailed instructions are available at the end of these general instructions.
Fin Aid: View or print your “[Financial Aid] Missing Documents” and “Financial Aid Award Letter” when applicable.
Billing: View your Tax Relief (1098-T) form, retrieve a “Detailed Billing Summary” (running total of your student account) or view a set term’s “Estimated Tuition Worksheet.”
Housing: Make a “Meal Plan Request,” “Request a Room,” or make a “Student Housing Inquiry.”

Records

Grade Report: Set a term in the “Currently Set” link and see your grades as they are posted.
Online Registration: You must first meet with your advisor to get permission to register for classes through JetStream (see "Online Registration Instructions").
Query Course Schedule: View available classes in the “Course Schedule” by setting the Term in the "Currently Set" link and by entering criteria for any of the following boxes: Department, Course, Section, Location, Session, Instructor, Days, and Times of classes. Click on "Search."
Student Complete Schedule: View/print an entire (or portion) of your class schedule, including transfer work, grades, GPA’s, and more. Display a partial schedule by clicking on “Show/Hide [Term] Semester” to collapse/expand each term.
  • Grades are posted throughout the semester – view the dates when grades are posted by clicking on the “Course Schedule” link under Academics on Newman’s home page, select the specific “Term Section Information,” and then scroll to "Grades Available on the Web."
Student Holds Inquiry: Check for any Holds on your record.
Student Schedule: Set a term in the “Currently Set” link and see that particular schedule of classes.
Transfer Credits Inquiry: View a list of your transfer credits.
Who Is Your Advisor Inquiry: Check here for the name of your academic advisor.

Other Considerations

  • Username and Password information are only sent via your Newman University e-mail account.
  • In order to retrieve a forgotten password from JetStream you will need to know your Student ID number. (The Degree Audit report displays the ID on the top of the report.) You will also need to supply an e-mail address that we have entered in the NU database.
  • To print a page (e.g., your Complete Schedule) you may need to set your page layout to "Landscape Orientation."

Student Online Registration Instructions

  1. Log in to Jetstream (using the student’s username/password)
    • Click the “Currently Set” link at the top of the screen.
    • On Term, use drop-down box to select the term for registration.
  2. Update Personal Information
    • Click on [General] and then click on [Update Personal Information].
    • Verify the “Born” field. If you need to update your date of birth, do so and also mark “Update” and click on [Update Name].
    • Verify and/or update the information on the following buttons by marking the action taken
      • (e.g., No Change, Update, etc.), then click on [Submit] and then [Return to Main Screen].
        • Address – Must select Address Type.
        • Phone – Must select Phone Type (numbers only; no dashes).
        • Demographics – Must select EACH Demographics Category.
        • Student Data – Must select a Term.
        • Degree, Projected Graduation Date, and Major(s) /Minor(s)/ Specialization(s) (Concentration(s)).
  3. Online Registration:
    • Click on [Records] and then [Online Registration]
    • Select the appropriate term and click on [Register].
    • Click the [Add Courses] button to choose your courses.
      • From this page you can select search criteria from the Course Schedule.
        • (It is not necessary to put selection criteria in every box. It is recommended that you put criteria in the Location field and the Department field only.)
      • Click on the [Search] button.
      • Check the “Set” box next to the course(s) you want to select, then click [Register].
        • If a course has a required lab, be sure to select it also.
        • If a course is full, you won’t have the option to select it and “Avail” has 0 in red.
      • After clicking the [Register] button a message appears telling how many courses have been selected. Click on [See Detail].
    • Select each course in this manner.
    • Delete any courses remaining in Pending Registration(s).
  4. Completing the Registration Process
    • Acknowledge payment obligation by checking the box “I accept the terms”.
    • Click the Complete button.
    • All students must go to the Financial Aid/Student Accounts Office on the second floor of Sacred Heart Hall to finalize their registration.
    • Students can go to the JetStream link on the NU home page to choose and completea payment option.
    • Click on [Records] and then [Student Schedule], to view and/or print your schedule.
  5. Student Logs Out
    • Any schedule changes (drops/adds) must be done through the Registrar’s Office
