Of all the jobs Randy Smith has had in college administration, his heart always told him what Newman confirmed Monday when it named him the school's new athletic director. "I never left athletics because I was burned out or had lost the taste for it," Smith said. "I always hoped there would be an opportunity for me to move back to athletics because of all the jobs I've had I thought that was what I was best in."
