Newman University to Honor Four with Cardinal Newman Medal at Feb. 22 Dinner

Newman University will honor four individuals for their distinguished service to the university by conferring upon each the Cardinal Newman Medal. The medals will be awarded at a special dinner to be held at 6 p.m., Feb. 22 at the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC) Wichita Center, 1165 Southwest Boulevard in Wichita. The event is part of Newman University’s annual Cardinal Newman Week activities, a celebration of the life and teachings of 19th century Catholic theologian and educator John Henry Cardinal Newman, for whom Newman University is named.

Thirty-four athletes achieve 4.0 GPA Newman Athletes Achieve Success In The Classroom As Well As On The Field

The Newman University Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that in the 2005 fall semester Newman student-athletes recorded a 3.095 combined Grade Point Average (GPA). Thirty-four students out of 378 Newman athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA, which helped 12 of Newman’s 17 teams boast an overall team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The report considers only those student-athletes classified as active on Newman’s rosters.
