Newman University Receives $1.5 Million Gift From Eck Family for New Library and Campus Center Thursday, April 26, 2007 (140 reads)
Newman University officials announced that they have received a gift of $1.5 million from Les and Pam Eck, owners of Rusty Eck Ford, and the Eck family for the university’s Dugan Library and Campus Center campaign. With the Eck gift, plus other funds raised throughout the campaign, Newman has reached the amount needed to secure a challenge grant established by the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, and met the overall library and campus center campaign goal of $14.25 million. Read More |

Newman University Presents ‘Lights, Camera, Music!’ April 27 and 28 Monday, April 23, 2007 (153 reads)
The Newman University Chorale and Troubadours will stage “Lights, Camera, Music!” at 7:30 p.m., April 27 and 28 in the Performance Hall of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center on the Newman campus. Under the direction of Deanne Zogleman, director of Choral Studies at Newman University, the groups will perform a selection of classic songs and skits from silver screen epics such as “Star Wars,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Grease,” “West Side Story,” “Sister Act,” “Dream Girls” and several Disney favorites for the young and the young at heart. Newman University Receives $20,000 Gift From Knight Foundation Fund Monday, April 16, 2007 (149 reads)
Newman University officials announced today that the university has received a gift of $20,000 from The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation Fund. Newman University will host the 23rd Annual Jet Open Charity Golf Tournament Monday, April 30 at Rolling Hills Country Club, 223 South Westlink Street in Wichita. The tournament begins with lunch at 11:30 a.m. It is designed to benefit Newman student-athletes by raising funds for athletic scholarships, programs and facilities. Read More |

Newman University Offers Free Math and Science Summer Program for Female High School Students Wednesday, April 04, 2007 (182 reads)
In keeping with its mission of educating the mind and inspiring the spirit, the Math and Science Departments at Newman University will host the Women Exploring Math and Science (WXMS) Summer Institute. The program, which is designed for females who will be high school sophomores, juniors or seniors in the 2007-08 school year, will be offered July 24-25. Tuition will be waived, and participants will receive 1 hour of college credit upon completion of the institute. Read More |
