Newman University Reaches Out to Victims of Greensburg Tornado Tuesday, May 15, 2007 (241 reads)
Newman University is responding to the needs of victims of the recent tornado in Greensburg, Kan., with several initiatives. The university is establishing a relief fund for Newman alumni and their families in the area who were affected by the storm, and offering up to $100,000 in scholarships that will be allocated among as many as five graduating high school seniors interested in attending Newman. Several university faculty, staff and students are also undertaking projects including outings to Greensburg to help with the clean-up efforts. Read More |

Jet Open Golf Tournament Raises $44K To Benefit Newman University Athletics Friday, May 11, 2007 (229 reads)
The Newman University 23rd Annual Jet Open Charity Golf Tournament raised $44,442 to help support athletic scholarships, programs and facilities. The event, held April 30 at Rolling Hills Country Club, was one of the largest ever with 140 players compared to 124 at last year’s tournament, and featured prizes for top teams and individuals, and a silent and a live auction that raised more than $14,500. Newman University To Honor Retiring Dean Joan Felts and Nursing Faculty Members On May 11 Tuesday, May 08, 2007 (212 reads)
Newman University will honor three distinguished members of the university’s nursing program at a special reception from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, May 11 in the Eck Hall Foyer on the Newman University campus. The event will be a tribute to Dean of the School of Science, Nursing and Allied Health Joan Felts, Ph.D, and nursing faculty members Associate Professor Sheryl Browning, Ph.D. and Associate Professor Elsie Klish, M.S., who are retiring from teaching at the end of the spring 2007 semester.
