Newman University officials announced today that its new Dugan Library has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the State Library of Kansas. Forty-two libraries from across the state submitted a total of 47 Interlibrary Loan Development Grant proposals. The State Library approved funding for 27 applications. Read More |

Newman University Men’s Basketball Announces its First NCAA Division II Recruiting Class Monday, August 27, 2007 (211 reads)
In the fall of 2007 Newman University athletics faces the challenge of competing at a new level. Having made the move from NAIA affiliation to NCAA Division II just one year ago, they enter their first season of Division II competition. Since the program’s rebirth in 1997, the Newman University’s men’s basketball team has been a top 25 program at the NAIA level. Now they are faced with the question of whether they will be able to compete against bigger, faster, and stronger athletes on a regular basis. With the announcement of their first class of NCAA recruits, the Jets are excited about the team they’ve put together for the 2007-08 season. Read More |

Two Newman University graduates of the class of 2007 have been named recipients of this year’s Harvey J. and Leona J. Ablah Awards. Joseph Dunn of Wichita received the Harvey J. Ablah Award, and Rachel Brooks of Valley Center, Kan., received the Leona J. Ablah Award. Read More |
