Newman University Bids Farewell To Former President Father Roman Galiardi

Members of the Newman University community are mourning the loss of Father Roman Galiardi, O.S.B., the sixth president of Newman predecessor institutions Sacred Heart College and Kansas Newman College. Father Galiardi, who served as president from 1971 to 1982, passed away Nov. 26, 2006 at his residence in St. Procopius Abbey in Lisle, Ill., following a battle with cancer.

Newman University offers Fine Arts patrons a delightful weekend of theatre and vocal music performances beginning this Friday, Dec. 1. Theatre students will present "An Evening of Student Shows," a fun-filled night of comedy created by theatre students at Newman University featuring performances on Friday, Dec. 1, and Saturday, Dec. 2. Then Newman's Chorale and Troubadour vocal music groups end the weekend with a Christmas-spirited finale on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Bishop Gerber, Sister Tarcisia Named Honorary Co-Chairs

Newman University has named the Most Reverend Eugene J. Gerber, D.D., Bishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, and Tarcisia Roths, ASC, Ph.D., as honorary co-chairs of the university’s Dugan Library and Campus Center capital campaign.
