Newman University Offers Free Math and Science Program for Female High School Students Tuesday, May 06, 2008 (85 reads)

Wichita, Kan. – In keeping with its mission of educating the mind and inspiring the spirit, the Math and Science Departments at Newman University will again host the Women Exploring Math and Science (WXMS) Summer Institute. The program, which is designed for females who will be high school sophomores, juniors or seniors in the 2008-09 school year, will be offered June 10-12. Tuition will be waived, and participants will receive one hour of college credit upon completion of the institute.

Newman University Women’s Basketball Coach Signs Hutchinson Standout Edan Townley for Upcoming Season Monday, May 05, 2008 (75 reads)

Wichita, Kan. – Newman University Women’s Basketball Head Coach Tracy Anderson announced her second player of the spring signing period with the signing of high school standout Edan Townley. Wichita, Kan. - Newman University is making final plans for several activities related to Spring 2008 graduation. Newman will hold the Spring 2008 Baccalaureate Mass on May 9 and the Spring 2008 Commencement ceremony on May 10. A Nurses Pinning ceremony will also take place on May 9, and an Occupational Therapy Assistants Pinning ceremony on May 10. Read More |

Wichita, Kan. – John Henry Cardinal Newman, the 19th century theologian and educator for whom Newman University is named, appears to be one step closer to being declared a saint by the Catholic Church. According to reports by the Catholic News Agency and the Birmingham (England) Mail, doctors in the Vatican have accepted the cure of a man bent double by a painful spinal condition as a miracle attributable to Cardinal Newman.
