This afternoon, the new Newman University electronic sign suddenly filled with light, sending messages of news and happenings of the university to all those passing the Newman campus along Kellogg/Highway 54.

Crews began building the sign at the beginning of last week. The sign stands east of New and Fugate Halls in a parking lot. The new digital sign can send multiple messages which can incorporate both text and graphics. The former marquee sign will be removed in the near future.
