Trees Removed for Campus Mall Construction

Trees Being Removed West of Sacred Heart Hall and Southwest of De MattiasConstruction work for the new Campus Mall project began this week with the removal of trees just west of Sacred Heart Hall (SHH) and southwest of the De Mattias Fine Arts Center. The area is being cleared for a new parking lot to connect the existing parking lots west of SHH and west of De Mattias. The parking lot, central walkway and plaza of the new Campus Mall are expected to be completed by the end of June 2008. The landscape plan for the Campus Mall will include 40 to 60 new trees. The project will be accomplished in phases, with the new parking lot and west half of the Campus Mall completed first, and the east half following.
