    Cassie McCullough '08

    Newman University (1998-Present)
    Cassandra McCullough has been matched to an externship at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis where she will be participating in specialized training for NFP (natural family planning) and NaPro (an infertility treatment program).  Cassie will continue her medical school residency following this year of training.

    Leslie Cope '96

    Kansas Newman College (1973-1998)
    Leslie Cope 60, passed away on June 15, 2011 at Harry Hynes Hospice.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle.  Les worked as an engineer at Bombardier and was a member of the YMCA and Knights of Columbus.  He is survivd by his wife of 40 years Marie Cope, children: Damian (Hollie) Cope and Jennifer (Michael) Rogosheske.  There are five grandchildren.  Sending our sympathy to the family.

    Phillip T. Nguyen '11

    Phillip T. Nguyen is teaching at Dodge City High School, Dodge City, KS.  Congratulations on finding that teaching job so quickly.  Good luck!

    Lawrence Cowan '92

    Kansas Newman College (1973-1998)
    Lawrence Cowan recently received his Master of Science in Health Care Administration degree from New England College.  He was also married on February 12, 2011 to Tiffanny Ann Graves.  Tiffanny worked in the nursing field since 1986 and is currently a homemaker.  Lawrence serves as administrator of Hildebrand Care Center in Canon City, CO., a skilled nursing facility.  Congratulations to you both!

    Jeff Lipp '88 was promoted to Associate Vice President-Operations for HDR Constructors, Inc.  Their temporary address is Overland Park, KS as they build a new home in Olathe, KS.

    Dorothy Voegeli Eck died June 13, 2011 in St. Mark's, KS.  She is survived by six children: Joan (Vince) Seiler A '66, Carl (Paula), Greg (Margaret), Theresa (Cliff) Woodard, Doris (Allan) Hein, and Tina (Jim) Lies.  There are three daughter-in-laws: Brenda, Chris and Lori; 63 grandchildren, and 74 great-grandchildren.  Sisters include: Josephine Schauf, Mary Ann Smith A'37, and Sr. Floriana Voegeli A'40.  Dorothy lived 68 years as Urban's wife, 64 years as a mother, 41...

    Nicole (Kramer) Easterday '02

    Wedding congratulations go out to Nicole Kramer '02 and Jared Easterday.  They were married  on May 29, 2011.  Nicole is a Senior Account Executive for ALM, an Integratd Media Company-- a leading provider of news and information for the legal and commercial real estate markets.  The couple reside in Oakland, CA.

    John Pyles '76

    Murlee Pyles, 95, homemaker, passed away June, 19, 2011 in Wichita, KS.  She is survived by her sons, Ray (Juanita) Pyles, John (Freda) Pyles '76; daughter, Ann (Pyles) Flores.  There are four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.  Son, John is a physician practicing at the VA.  He was recently featured in Challenge magazine following a year of service in Haiti.  Our prayers to the Pyles family.

    Melissa Zielke and Kyle Haney are engaged and will be married in July 2011.  Melissa is a graduate of Heights High School, Kansas State University and a graduate of Newman University with a Masters of Education with an emphasis in ESL.  She is currently a first grade teacher for Goddard, KS.  Kyle is a graduate of Heights High School; a graduate of Newman University in Nursing; and will be attending the Nurse Anesthesia Program this fall at Newman.  He is currently a nurse...

    Jolene L. Maus-Winter, 73 of Andale, KS, died on June 13, 2011.  Jolene is survived by: husband, Alvin Winter; Mother Esther Strunk,  children: Bill Maus (Denise), Ken Maus,  Barb (Kelly) Mason, Brad Maus (Bobi); stepchildren: Kent (Susan) Winter,  Fred (Nancy) Winter, Alison (Rick) Stookey; two sisters, Kathleen Meyer '63 and Ruth Keiter.  There are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Jolene was a retired bank receptionist.  Sending our sympathy...
