'95 Nicole Triggs, BSN, earned a MS in Nursing from the University of Texas, Houston in May 2010 and is now a board certified  pediatric nurse practicioner.  She accepted a position as a Clinical Instructor of Nursing for the the University of Texas.  Nicole said "I wouldn't recommend waiting 13 years before returning to the classroom,"  she said she found her Master's program challenging and the online courses were much different than the St. Joseph Hospital classroom...

Stanhope, 84, of Colwich, KS. died August, 29, 2010.  He is the Father of alumnus Marti Lamar and Toni (Bill) Bryant and seven other children: Mike (Gretchen) Stanhope, Pat  (Leticia) Stanhope, Teresa Stanhope, Cathy (Myron) Huber, Libb (Bill) Stanhope, Stan (Mary) Stanhope, and Margaret McBroom; 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.  Mr. Stanhope served in the U.S. Navy until the end of WWll and then attended and wrestled for Duke University.  He...

Ursula Celestia (Neuwirth) Metsker, 77, passed away August 26, 2010.  The funeral Mass was celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wichita, with her internment at Douglas, KS cemetery.  She is survived by her sisters Marietta Sullivan, Geraldine Dellinger, Zeke Mayer and Donna Lea Fitzpatrick.  Her sister-in-laws are Twila Newuirth and Maria Newuirth; 23 nephews and nieces and numerous great nephews and nieces.  She was a retired accountant and horologist, recognized for...

Dr. Larry Hund '74 was recently featured in the Wichita Business Journal as one of Wichita's best pediatricians!  Larry mentioned Dr. Surrendra Singh, a former and current teacher at Newman University as a most influential person in his life.  Dr. Hund's hobbies include exercise, reading, travel and time with his wife.  Congratulations.

Uy Phi '06

It's been a long road from a teacher and law school student in Vietnam to now an English teacher at Derby High School, but one Uy says is worth it.  Uy Phi was recently honored for excellence in teaching in the Derby School system.  She escaped the Communist takeover in Vietnam with hopes that her chldren would have a better life and a chance to go to college.  Uy says, "It is a long story-a sad story- but we're all here now.  My kids all have a college degree, and I'm happy...
