It is that time of the year again! Blow the dust off those old cleats and see what you’ve got left in the tank.  All Newman University baseball alumni are invited to the 2008 Alumni Game, which will take place on Saturday, Oct. 11.  The Homerun Derby will begin at Noon and will be immediately followed by the game.

Wichita, Kan. – Former Newman University Jets First Baseman Mike Garcia signed a professional contract with the Joliet (Ill.) Jackhammers on Wednesday, July 16. The Jackhammers compete in the Northern League, which consists of six teams throughout the northern Midwest.

Wichita, Kan. – Former Newman University Jets catcher Mike Scripture has signed a professional baseball contract with the Rockford RiverHawks of the Frontier League. Rockford, an independent ball club based in Loves Park, Ill., announced the signing on Sunday, June 29.
