Counseling

    The Counseling degree program prepares you to assist people going through difficult times and help them regain their promise. The program prepares you for a career in the delivery of human services to adults, children and adolescents in need. There is a dual emphasis in the curriculum for extensive theoretical study and practical training. Each student is provided with specialized courses in addiction, criminal justice studies and working with children and adolescents.

    Along with the supervision of the faculty, a bachelor's degree in counseling provides the skills and opportunities necessary for a professional career in counseling or for graduate study in counseling, social work and human services.

    BSRB Requirements for Counselor Licensure

    The curriculum for the degree in counseling meets the requirements for the LAC required by the Behavioral Sciences Rugulatory Board (BSRB) for working in programs serving substance dependent and abusing clients.
