This is a Tutor/Mentor position in the Community Service program which is located at Youth Friends-Haysville, USD 261. This position is located in Haysville, KS, and student is responsible for own transportation.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
This position will mentor and tutor students in small group capacities for remediation and enrichment purposes.

Student is responsible for their own transportation.

Student must be Federal work-study eligible.

Number of hours per week: 5-20 hours per week

Days and times needed: Flexible; after school program.

Rate of pay: $7.25

[Part-time] Student Assistant for Transfer Student Activities at Newman University

Description:

The Director of Transfer Activities has an opening for three Student Assistants. This is a paid student employment position.

Requirements: Students need to be proficient in using Facebook, email and other social media; have an engaging personality, be responsible and trustworthy; be positive about their experience at NU. Given the responsibilities of the position, preference will be given to transfer students.

Responsibilities:
• Preparing for and assisting with the Transfer Transition: Navigating Newman (TTNN) days May 23, June 7, August 6, and August 24. There will also be a January, 2014 Transfer Transition
• Contacting incoming transfers prior to TTNNs
• Communicating in an ongoing way with transfers following TTNN
• Mentoring a specific group of transfers
• Posting communication on the Newman University Transfer Students Facebook account
• Using social media to keep in contact with transfers
• Instructing transfer on use of JetStream, Blackboard and other Newman technology

Number of work hours per week: 1-5

Days and times needed: flexible except for the days of TTNN events. Students must be present for those events.

Rate of Pay: $7.25

Number of positions available: 3

[Full-time] Student Housekeeper - Summer at Newman University

Description:

The Housekeeping Department will be hiring for the Summer 2013. This is a paid student employment position.

Responsibilities: Student housekeepers will assist housekeeping staff with the daily cleaning routine. Student housekeepers will do light housekeeping duties that include, vacuuming or mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, cleaning glass windows, dusting surfaces, sweeping floors and entrances, etc. Student workers will move furniture such as tables, chairs, beds, etc.

Requirements: Student applicants must be punctual and reliable. Applicants should have basic understanding of cleaning techniques and must be able to perform assigned duties in a reasonable amount of time with an acceptable degree of quality. Applicants must be able to work both independently and as a team player.

Job qualifications, special skills, etc: Must be able to operate basic household cleaning equipment.

Beginning and ending dates of positions: May 15th through August 15th

Number of positions available: 4

Rate of pay: $7.25

Number of hours per week: 40

Days and times needed: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day (8am to 5pm) and some Saturdays

Physical Requirements needed for the job: Applicants must be able: To walk across campus daily. To climb stairs 2-4 times per day. To stand for 2 to 3 hour intervals. To lift 30 – 35 pounds three/four times per hour.
