The Jets couldn’t avoid a sweep as they fell in 12 innings to the Falcons of the University of Texas-Permian Basin (UTPB) 3-2. Newman tied it in the bottom of the ninth before UTPB scored one in the 12th to steal a win.

Head Coach, Leonard Rau, got his 100th win in his 4th season at the helm of the Newman University Jets. Coach Rau is only the third Head Coach in Newman’s 30 year history as he was preceded by the great Paul Sanagorski, who derived the program in 1978, and Kevin Ulwelling who was the head coach from 2001-04.
