Jets finish fall season by placing 11th in Texas

Tuesday, Sept. 26 - The Newman men finished their fall season in Temple, placing 11th of 16 teams.

Newman Jets Men's Golf They were led by Sean Lunsford 71-777=148. Other team members were Erik Ritzman 81-75=156, Nick May 75-82=157, Dan Winters 79-84=163 and Paul Cleland 89-77=166. Colin Hobbs played as an individual and shot 78-79=157

May wins tournament; leads Jets to second-place finish

Tuesday, Sept. 26 - Newman golfer Nick May won the Lindenwood Invitational golf tournament at Mid-Rivers Golf Course in St. Peters, Mo. on Sept. 25 and 26, helping the Jets to a second-place finish as a team.

May, a native of Kechi and a transfer from Dodge City Community College, shot a two-day total of 141, winning the tournament by seven strokes. Other Newman golfers were Braeden Miller (163), Sean Lunsford (158), Paul Cleland (156) and Josh Russell (153). Hampel also competed, shooting a 169.

The golfers will next compete in the Southwestern Invitational to be played in Winfield on Oct. 9 and 10.

Jets open fall season in Texas

Tuesday, Sept. 12 - The Newman men’s golf team opened its fall season in Texas at Abilene Christian on Sept. 11 and 12. The Jets placed 14th of 18 teams in the tournament.

Nick May and Josh Russell led the way, as they each shot a two-day total of 147. Sean Lunsford shot a 156, while Bryan Hughes and Erik Ritzman both shot 167.
