Jets Finish Sixth at Cameron

Four of Newman's five golfers posted scores in the 80's as Newman dropped two spots in Tuesday's final round, finishing sixth in the 13-team Oklahoma Intercollegiate. Louise Sjoberg's tournament score of 158 led the Jets in the event, which concluded Tuesday at The Territory Golf Club in Duncan, Okla.

Women's Golf Opens Fourth at Cameron

Louise Sjoberg fired a 77 (+5) in her opening round, and has led the Newman women's golf team to fourth place after the opening round of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate, which began Monday at The Territory Golf Course in Duncan, Okla.

Freshman Linzi Allan opened her career with a tie for first place as the Newman women's golf team finshed fourth at the Lady Buff Stampede, which concluded Tuesday in Canyon, Texas.

W. Golf Signs Three

Wichita, Kan. – Newman University Women’s Golf Coach Don Farquhar announced the signing of three student-athletes for the 2009-2010 academic year. Farquhar went overseas to collect Alyssa Balding and Megan Birdsey from England and Linzi Allan from Scotland.

West Branson, Mo. – The Newman University women’s golf team placed fifth at the Drury University Ledgestone Classic at Ledgestone Country Club. Louise Sjoberg led the Jets with a 10th place finish individually.

Pottsboro, Texas -- Newman University’s Hadley Freeman accomplished a rare feat this week when she connected on a hole-in-one at the Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, Texas. It is believed to be the first ace during competition in the history of Newman women’s golf.

Pottsboro, Texas – Louise Sjoberg turned in a solid effort for the Newman University women’s golf team to place 9th at the Pepsi Lion Invitational at the Tanglewood Resort in Pottsboro, Texas. As a team, the Jets placed 13th out of 16 teams at the tournament hosted by Texas A&M University – Commerce.

Austin, Texas – The Newman University women’s golf team kicked off the 2009 spring season with a 15th place finish at the St. Edward’s Invitational at Grey Rock Golf Club in Austin. Louise Sjoberg led the Jets with a tie for 12th place.
