The Newman Lady Jets Softball Team lost the first game of a doubleheader against the University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) when the Falcons scored the lone run of the game in the bottom of the seventh. Jo Fluker took the loss as the Jets were shut out for the eleventh time this season.

Jo Fluker recorded her fifth victory of the season as the Jets scored three runs in the first inning and went on to shut out the Oklahoma Panhandle State University Aggies. The win created the first winning weekend series for the Jets in Heartland Conference play.

The softball team won it's first D-II doubleheader Saturday against Panhandle State University (PSU). Jo Fluker recorded her fourth victory of the season when Kari Dillon opened the bottom of the eighth inning with her sixth home run of the year which ended the game 3 - 2.
