Potter Named Volleyball All-Conference

Chelsey Potter has been named to the All-Heartland Conference Volleyball team, as announced by the conference office. Potter is one of 12 student-athletes selected to the team by the conference's head volleyball coaches, and was the only Newman student athlete named to the team.

Volleyball Swept in Finale, 3-0

Newman's 2009 volleyball campaign ended with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-19) loss to Texas-Permian Basin Saturday afternoon at the Falcon Dome in Odessa, Texas. Freshman Sarah Bailey gave the Jets a glimpse of the future, leading the team with 11 kills behind a .529 hitting percentage.

Wichita, Kan. – Newman University Athletics Director Vic Trilli announced the addition of Joanna Pryor as the Jets new Head Volleyball Coach on Wednesday.  Pryor served in the same capacity at Cowley College since 2000, posting an overall record of 218-93 and taking her last four teams to the NJCAA National Championship Tournament.
