The Sports Medicine Minor at Newman University is intended for students who are interested in academic disciplines including physical education, pre-physical therapy, coaching, pre-chiropractic, nutrition, nursing, pre-medicine, pre-occupational therapy, or pre-athletic training, as well as those interested in graduate education. This program will provide interested students with the academic background and the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in sports medicine.
Sports Medicine
The sports medicine minor is designed to meet growing interest in a program of study that integrates exercise and health sciences with the practical aspects of human performance. By completing this program, students have an opportunity to acquire knowledge as they learn about anatomy, human movement, nutrition and sports injuries.

The delivery method of course materials is in a traditional classroom setting. Students will gain theoretical knowledge in the classroom and hands-on experience through out-of-the-classroom internship opportunities such as serving as an assistant trainer for Newman University.
