Shelly (Klaus) Steadman ’95, Chemistry and Biology, Mulvane, Kan.

Shelly Klaus Steadman is a member of laboratory management for the Regional Forensic Science Center in Sedgwick County Kansas specializing in forensic biology. Shelly is DNA manager and, like all county laboratory staff, also serves as a case-working scientist, a job she wishes was like that portrayed on the popular T.V. show “CSI.” A summa cum laude student at Newman, Shelly also holds an M.S. in Biology from Wichita State University. In addition, a committee review of her doctoral thesis is currently in progress at the University of Strathclyde Glasgow, Scotland-UK. Shelly is published in numerous scientific journals and was recently recognized as one of 40 outstanding Wichita leaders under 40 years of age. Shelly has a reputation for thoroughness and creativity; two skills that, when combined, have helped bring numerous high-profile cases to their conclusion. Shelly is identified as a distinguished alumna for her dedication to uncovering the truth and her contributions to the pursuit of justice through scientific discovery.
