Maximize your potential to receive additional renewable funding for quality education at Newman University. In order to receive any institutional Newman scholarships or grants you must be a full-time flat-rate student.

Freshman and Transfer Merit Scholarships

Cardinal Newman Scholarship

Named after John Henry Cardinal Newman, this scholarship is the top academic award offered at Newman. The scholarship amount for 2012-13 is $19,388 annually ($77,522+ over four years) plus $2,000 annually ($8,000 over four years) in housing grant.

National Merit Scholarship

The National Merit Scholarship is awarded to those students who have been recognized as a National Merit Finalists. The scholarship amount for 2012-13 is $18,866 annually ($75,464+ over four years) plus $2,000 annually ($8,000 over four years) in housing grant.

Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship recognizes high academic achievement. This award is $12,000 annually ($48,000 over four years).

This academic scholarship is available to freshman and transfer students. The award is $8,000 annually ($32,000 over 4 years).

The Newman Grant is available to freshmen and transfer students. This award is $5,000 annually ($20,000 over four years).

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Newman University recognizes Phi Theta Kappa members by awarding this scholarship. The award is $3,000 annually ($6,000 over 2 years).

Community College Associate Degree Incentive Scholarship

First time transfer students are eligible for a $1,500 scholarship (over two years) if they have completed a two-year degree from a community college located in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Missouri, or Colorado.

Dual Admissions Scholarship

The dual admissions scholarship is available to students who are transferring from a partner school. The award is $3000 annually ($6000 over two years).

Newman University offers need-based grants to those who qualify.

Newman University Housing Grants

The housing grant is available to students interested in on-campus housing. The grant award is up to $2,000 annually.

Athletics

Athletic scholarships are given to students involved in varsity athletics who meet NCAA eligibility requirements. Amounts of the scholarships are varied and are at the discretion of coaches.

Fine Arts

Fine Arts Scholarships are given to students who are involved in Newman University Fine Arts programs, Amounts of the scholarships are varied and are at the discretion of the program directors.

Co-curricular Scholarships

ASC Community Leader Scholarship

In keeping with the mission of Newman University and the mission of our founders the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (ASC), this scholarship program acknowledges community service. Students selected as ASC Community Leader Scholars will participate in leadership and service classes as well as providing community service. The scholarship is $3,000 annually ($12,000 over four years).

The AVID Future Teachers Scholarship program is designed to assist those former AVID students who would like to pursue a career in teaching. Newman University is committed to helping students to transform society. The AVID Future Teachers Scholarship helps the Wichita Public Schools develop future teachers while they gain valuable experience tutoring AVIDstudents through our the academic year.
